2. Why do I need rain gutters on my home?

3. Is there a difference between buying gutter supplies in a home improvement store versus buying from Designer Gutter Company?
Yes, first of all the quality is different, we use thicker aluminum coil then the normal hardware stores. Our gutter capacity is bigger, comparing 5 inch to 6 and 7 inch gutter, and we can make the length of gutter any size your home needs. We have replaced many gutter jobs that had been first attempted by the homeowner. Installing rain gutter is not as easy as it may look. Our professional installation will enhance your home and give it additional value.
4. Once I have my gutter and downspouts installed, are they basically maintenance free?
I would say for the most part, yes they are, except, rain gutters should be checked for blockages from fallen debris, sealants should be checked for leaks, we recommend that your gutter system should be checked out at a minimum of once a year for proper function. The Leafguard and maintenance programs or a scheduled once a year clean out with our company would certainly remedy this problem.
5. Why are there different sizes of gutter and downspouts available?
This a very good question, and the answer is because of all the different types of homes and roof sizes that are being built. The old phrase “bigger is always better” certainly applies to gutter, but not all the homes we install need to have the larger of the two sizes. We recommend getting a professional survey and estimate on each job that we do. It is a free service and it puts the responsibility in our hands, or we certainly direct you to the size you need.
6. Can I paint my gutter and spouts to match the custom colors of our home?
Yes, even though our products come with a baked on enamel finish, and we offer many colors to choose from, there are many homeowners that want their gutter to match the custom color of their home. We recommend that you check with your painter or supplier of paint products on preparing your new gutter and downspouts for painting. It certainly can be painted and it is done quite often.
7. What qualifications does Designer Gutter Company have?
We are a state registered aluminum specialty contractor. Each municipality has different requirements, make sure that the contractor that you use is licensed and properly insured. Designer Gutter Company has been a contractor in good standing for the past 33 years. Along with being licensed, it is required that we maintain our licenses with continued education which keeps us up to date on any changes in the industry and/or changes within the state of Florida.
8. Are all leaf guard products basically the same?
There are many products available for the protection of your gutters. We have several to choose from and will gladly show you the different types and suggest the best product for you situation. Certain leaf guards now come with a micro mesh over the top of the vented material which keeps pine needles and the smallest debris out of the gutter.
